We rented a car and took a relaxing beach side drive to the North Shore where we watched a surf competition and on the return trip stopped at numerous hole in the wall roadside stands for local produce and culinary treats. Fresh pineapple and coconuts we drank out of with straws.
Spent 18 days at 864. Absolute paradise. The Google map does this slice of heaven no justice. Got married on the beach right down the end of the street.
Very beautiful and tranquil. We stayed for 5 nights and were regretful for having scheduled a 7 day cruise. We would have liked to have spent all 12 days away from the tourists and hustle of Honolulu and Waikiki. Due to jet-lag we woke up early enough every day to sit on the beach and eat breakfast as the sun rose. We would pack the provided cooler, make coffee and carry the provided chairs down to the beach. While there we would delight in spotting ghost crabs scurry about.
The Owners Betty & Ron are so so sweet! The pictures on the website do not do this little secret paradise justice. Waimanalo beach in the back yard is absolute paradise! White sand and the most amazing gorgeous blue water I've ever seen! Hardly anyone ever on the beach. Betty & Ron provide everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Gated parking, Fridge, espresso machine, plates, eating utensils, cups, napkins, microwave, toiletries, towels, beach towels, cooler, umbrella (rain), beach chairs, boogie board, iron & ironing board, blow dryer, super comfy bed, alarm clock radio, air conditioning, cable, Hulu, Netflix, & most important WIFI! The breakfasts were so good different fruit plates everyday with danishes or muffins. For the price, I give this place two thumbs up! I'll definitely be staying here again next year! TripAdvisor and TVFoodMaps kept us aware of the valuble things to do all around us. AT&T 4G coverage was good and allowed us to GPS everywhere.
